Hufflepuff

Hogwarts is a fictional boarding school of magic which Harry Potter, the character of J.K. Rowling attends. It comprises of four houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. The house Hufflepuff is named after Helga Hufflepuff, the founder of the house. According to the author this house corresponds to the element earth, so it is not surprising that its mascot is a badger and its dormitories are in the basement. The name Hufflepuff conjures up images of huffing and puffing. What is interesting is that the Hindi Translation of the Harry Potter series calls this house Poufsouffle, which in French produces very much the same association as Hufflepuff does in English.
